Jim Armstrong:

JDA Software Group, Inc. derived from a predecessor Canadian company
founded in Calgary, Alberta, in 1979. In 1985, the U.S. organization was
formed and was relocated to Phoenix, Arizona in 1987. JDA provides
Retail Information Systems and related support to retailers throughout
the world and is the market share leader in its industry. The company
went public in 1996 (Nasdaq:
JDAS).

The formation of the Armstrong Family Foundation (1996) and Kiita
Foundation (1999) are direct results of the success of JDA Software. The
Foundations were funded by donated shares of JDA Software to provide
financial grants to other non-profit organizations, primarily in Arizona
and Montana.

Our experience working with unselfish volunteers who provide service
to others—educators, students, not for profit professionals—as well as
our time with the recipients of these services, has convinced us that the
truest reward one can reap from success is the ability to provide
committed service to others.
